The Epping Model Railway Club
first formed as a group of ten members of the Southern Cross Model
Railway Association (SCMRA) in 1979. They gathered together to
build an exhibition layout
in HO scale. The layout was Mt Wilson and was based on NSWR
practice in the Blue Mountains. The members of the Group also
worked within SCMRA to
manage the Model Railway Exhibition at Birkenhead Point shopping centre
in Sydney in January from 1982 to 1985.
The Group then incorporated as the Epping Model
Railway Club Incorporated and managed the June Queen's Birthday Long
Weekend Model Railway Exhibition. This was at the Meadowbank
TAFE college from 1986 to 1995 and at Epping Boys High School from 1996
to the present.
The Club has built a number of exhibition layouts, listed below. All the layouts are based on NSWR practice. Members of the Club supply all the trains.
